DIVERSITY, EQUITY AND INCLUSION -- Joe helped initiate Kenmore's first LGBTQ Pride Proclamation, supported our first DEI Initiative and Black Lives Matter, and the Obama Pledge for policing reform. Joe initiated the re-naming of the park formerly named after Watson Squire, a Washington Territorial Governor who testified to Congress in favor of the 1892 anti-Chinese Geary Act. The Kenmore Heritage Society consulted the Tulalip Tribes, who recommended the Coast Salish Lushootseed name Tl' Awh-Ah-Dees for the park's new name.

PARKS AND ENVIRONMENT -- Joe supports our Climate Action Plan, testing of industrial emissions, new culverts for salmon recovery, fighting to protect our parks and our tree canopy, habitat, wetlands, wetland buffers and open space. Kenmore has a new boat house, and new Sammamish Slough access for small watercraft.

GROW SMART -- Joe supports safer sidewalks and new bike lanes, new PSE infrastructure keeping power outages shorter; road improvements, and building a safer Sammamish River Bridge.

GROW WITH HEART -- Mobile home park protection ordinance; COVID relief and small business PPE, supporting our downtown businesses.
