Meet Joe Marshall

Joe grew up in Kenmore. His Mom was the first woman Fire Commissioner at the Northshore Fire District and his Dad was a transportation law attorney. Joe attended Arrowhead Elementary, Kenmore Junior High and graduated a proud Inglemoor Viking (football and band). Joe graduated magna cum laude from the UW with a BA in English and earned an MFA in Poetry, on scholarship, from Cornell University. He married Leanne, his high-school sweat-heart, in the Grotto at St. Edward State Park in 1995. In 1999 Joe earned a Juris Doctor from the UW.

Joe worked as a proud Public Defender for six years. He then moved to civil practice representing the Northshore Fire District, Northshore Utility District, private property and small business owners in real estate and eminent domain cases, as well as private criminal defense. Joe is currently a Public Defender once more at the Snohomish County Defender Association.

Joe served as President of the Northshore Rotary Club, a Board Member of the Cascadia Community College Foundation, and currently serves on the Northshore Parks and Recreation Service Area board representing Kenmore. Voters recently approved the NPRSA's multi-million dollar levy to improve our Northshore Senior Center.

Joe returned to Kenmore in 2007 to raise his family and he and Leanne have two sons attending Northshore Public Schools, a gregarious golden retriever named Belle, and three cats, Sparky, Buddy and Zasu.
